Andy has no love for Empire State icon

New York is losing its heart.
Gov. Cuomo announced yesterday what he called a “reinvention” of the iconic “I ♥ ♥ NY” logo as part of a $5 million tourism advertising campaign.
The state is asking New Yorkers and visitors to go online and replace the heart in the logo with a sketch of their favorite New York activity.
But the creator of the original image was dumbfounded by the tinkering.
“I don’t understand it,” said Milton Glaser, whose 1977 design gained worldwide renown, and also helped to spur economic growth in the Big Apple and around the state.
