The documents show that the SEC from the beginning scrutinized Facebook’s business, raising concerns over mobile usage.
The mobile question became a key investor concern, and Facebook has said from the start it makes no money from users who log on through smartphones and tablets.
Tbe SEC said in its first letter from Feb. 28 that Facebook’s statement that users “could decide” to primarily use the social network on mobile was a contradiction, and users were, in fact, increasingly turning to such devices.
