In what’s now a mere formality, Mitt Romney’s commanding lead in delegates for the Republican presidential nomination grew last night with his primary victories in three states.
Romney gained 55 delegates, bringing him to a total of 911. He needs just 233 more for the nomination.

Earlier yesterday, Romney attacked President Obama by evoking former President Bill Clinton.

“President Clinton, remember, he said the era of big government was over. President Obama brought it back with a vengeance,” said Romney, who advanced to a 49-44 percent lead over Obama in a Rasmussen Reports daily poll.
Meanwhile, Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) lost a primary contest, ending his career in the Senate after six terms.
